How Synaptis uses Collaborative Storyboarding to
help clients get what they need . . . when they need it.
Synaptis has been cognizant of the time-saving and monetary advantages of free-flowing client collaboration for a number of years. That's why we were careful to include this capability into our eAuthor and eReview content creation tools when we developed them in 2002.
When we begin a project with a client, the first manifestion of this methodology is a Content Outline Document. This is a distillation of Discovery input from client SMEs and Synaptis Instructional Designers.
The Content Outline Document is reviewed by the client using tracked commentary. Agreed changes are assimilated and used as a basis to create a "live" storyboard using our eAuthor tool. It contains the actual pages, text and descriptions of placeholder graphics and simulations.
This storyboard is viewable by the client online and, most importantly is directly tied to our eReview tool which allows online commentary to be viewed and tracked by all stakeholders.
The next step is a Beta version with developed graphics and simulations in place. Additional cycles are used for audio review and final QA. Upon final approval, the content usually goes "live" within 24 hours!
