PeopleSoft training for international
pharmaceutical company

Our client is a world-leading research-based pharmaceutical company whose mission is to improve the quality of human life by enabling people to do more, feel better, and live longer. Headquartered overseas with operations based in the U.S., our client is an industry leader, with an estimated seven percent of the world's pharmaceutical market.

Our client was upgrading their PeopleSoft Human Resources system and implementing the Business Objects reporting tool. Our client needed to train 1,400 human resource end users at two U.S. facilities and one in London. Data-entry end users needed hands-on exposure to the new version of PeopleSoft, since working within the system was such an integral part of their jobs. A subset of the data-entry audience had specific requirements and business processes that would need to be addressed through instructor-led training (ILT). Our client was granting PeopleSoft view access to an end user population with no prior PeopleSoft experience. Our client had also recently implemented the Docent Learning Management System, and this program was to be the group's first experience with web-based training. This custom PeopleSoft end-user training project needed to be completed in 8 weeks.
Working with our client’s Change Management team, Synaptis created five PeopleSoft web-based training courses to support core PeopleSoft HR data-entry users, HR view users, and Business Objects reporting users. These business application training modules were created in parallel using the Synaptis internal web-based training development platform. The Synaptis Review Site allowed the client review team to see the development as it progressed and provide feedback online. This process expedited the review process in the tight timeframes and the web-based training courses were deployed in the Synaptis hosted Learning Center. Several weeks after Go Live, the SCORM 1.2-compliant web-based training courses were migrated into the Docent LMS for internal maintenance.
