PeopleSoft HCM 8.8 training for international
food service, retail, and hospitality company

Our client is one of the largest privately held companies in America whose core businesses include hospitality, food service, retail, gaming, and entertainment. They employ a total of 30,000 associates worldwide and serve millions of customers each year.

For their PeopleSoft HCM rollout, our client created web-based training materials in-house for their U.S.-based Human Resources associates, who are spread across the country. This year, they decided to update their existing training courses to include more high-quality graphics, a more flexible interface, and interactive simulations and activities. The new web-based training courses will be used for training and reference for both existing associates and new hires.

Synaptis created a suite of custom web-based training courses to replace our client's existing materials. The training modules include a Basic Query for PeopleSoft course, an Introduction to PeopleSoft, and a series of courses for the core Human Resources procedures in PeopleSoft: hire, personnel updates, time entry, transferring data between PeopleSoft and time and attendance systems, and reporting. The courses include interactive simulations of our client's PeopleSoft system, which enable users to practice the PeopleSoft procedures without the need for a training database environment. Synaptis packaged the SCORM-compliant courses to be hosted and tracked using our client's Element K Learning Management System.

The development process for the web-based training courses began with an onsite needs assessment. Synaptis then worked remotely to develop the course content. The internal Synaptis Review Site was used during the course review process to track our client's review comments and requests. The client was very pleased with the quality of Synaptis' work, knowledge of PeopleSoft, flexibility to meet their requests, and adherence to delivery dates and deadlines.
